About Emily

emily cavell coaching

Hey! I’m Emily

Strength & Conditioning Coach, Running Coach,

aspiring ultramarathon runner, former international level archer,

lover of lifting weights, tea, books, cats and horseback archery. Nice to meet you!

My goal as a coach is to help athletes discover their true potential through intentional, evidence-based programs with a holistic lens, considering the whole human and aspects like the menstrual cycle.

I was fascinated by female physiology (particularly the menstrual cycle) after reading Dr Stacy Sims’ book ROAR back in March 2020 (aka the OG lockdown here in NZ) and have dedicated both my professional and academic career into learning as much as humanly possible about the female body & exercise!

Now this knowledge is fully embedded into my coaching, and has helped me coach many different women - including those with PCOS, endometriosis, pelvic floor considerations, going through menopause, during pregnancy & postpartum. We deserve coaches who truly understand us & how our bodies work.

I get so much joy from providing education to athletes either one-to-one or via presentations and seminars. Knowledge is power - and I want all female athletes to know they are capable of performance at EVERY phase of their menstrual cycle.

I’m located at Leaton Performance & Rehabilitation in Eden Terrace, Auckland for all in-person services.
